OUR PROGRAMMES

We work to promote a healthy ageing society, with social wellbeing at its core. Our programmes are designed to support the many different aspects of health, emphasising social interactions and inviting all community members to participate. We deliver our programmes across multiple locations allowing us to reach more people, tailor programmes to local needs, and engage community lead volunteers.

Our programmes focus on reducing loneliness and social isolation, empowering individuals to engage in conversations, staying mentally and physically actives, and connecting with the natural environment, both outdoor and indoor. We foster confidence in daily activities, both in person and online.

1. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS

Many older adults experience loneliness and isolation to different extents, affecting their wellbeing. Our projects foster social connections through:

  • social cafés
  • intergenerational meetups
  • storytelling and writing sessions

2. LIFELONG LEARNING PROJECTS

Some people experience age-related cognitive changes. Our educational and cultural sessions promote self-expression, confidence, literacy and positive discussions, through:

  • news round
  • book clubs
  • languages clubs
  • sewing, knitting & crochet circles
  • painting & mandala colouring
  • theatre, dance & music sessions

3. RECONNECTION WITH ENVIRONMENT PROJECTS

Many older people experience difficulty in accessing green spaces, increasing isolation and feelings of loneliness that impact older adult wellbeing. Our projects promote connection with the environment, both outdoor and indoor for those with mobility difficulties, including:

  • nature from home
  • house plant gifting
  • plant care workshops
  • sensory nature sessions

4. SEASONAL & PRACTIAL SUPPORT PROJECTS

Seasonal changes can affect the quality of life and health of elderly people. Our programmes promote healthy behaviour and hazard awareness, including:

  • extreme weather preparedness
  • fall prevention
  • economic advice
  • accessible transport advice

5. WELLNESS PROJECTS

Facing difficulties in staying physically active may affect general well-being. Our workshops promote:

  • gentle exercise and relaxation sessions
  • healthy diet and nutritional advice
  • cooking classes

6. DIGITAL SKILLS FOR EVERYDAY LIFE PROJECTS

Technology can be intimidating for elderly people lacking digital literacy. Our IT programme empowers people, providing the essentials digital skills to enhance their independence, connectivity, and access to services.
